Using Your Skills to Become a Fertility Coach

An estimated 2 million women have left the workforce since 2020 due to the stressors of the pandemic. People everywhere are looking for ways to live a more flexible lifestyle while also earning money (in a career that actually makes an impact!) from home. And I see it in my community too.

Women often reach out to me to ask how I started my business and what skills they need to get their own work-from-home, passion driven dream off the ground. And you might be surprised by my reply….

Are you the go-to person for family and friends to turn to when they need support or advice?

Do you find yourself lifting people up when they’re going through hard times?

Those are exactly the skills you need to start a coaching business like mine.

I started my own coaching business in 2008 and honed my specialty into fertility coaching after I started my own winding journey to motherhood. (You can read more about my story here!) I’ve always felt the calling to help others, and have let that pull on my life lead the way.

If you are feeling that same pull, read on to understand what else I recommend to jumpstart your business:

  • A mentor - Find someone who is doing what you want to do, and get to know all you can about them! Follow them on social media, join their email list, register for their masterclass, and reach out to them via email or their DMs. They can help you learn more about the community you’re looking to serve and provide valuable insight into the behind-the-scenes parts of their business. If fertility coaching is your dream, I’m always happy to chat!

  • A passion for wellness - Life coaching, specifically for those specializing in fertility, should focus heavily on the overall health and wellbeing of their clients. A certification program (more on that in a minute!) can provide you with the research-backed information you’ll need to be a valuable coach, but it all starts with your own innate passion for health and healing - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

  • A desire to learn - If you have the passion and heart for coaching, you can learn everything else! I recommend enrolling in a reputable program to earn a certification in the specialty of your choosing. If you’re interested in fertility coaching, I created the Fertility Coach Academy as a step-by-step guide for launching your business in 90 days!

If you’re curious to hear more about the growing need for fertility coaches and learn from other women in the fertility and hormone health community, check out this article I was featured in with Entrepreneur. And don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any specific questions you may have about starting your own business. Supporting other women on their journeys is what lights up my soul, and I’d love nothing more than to chat with you!
